Kindergarten Registration

TULLAHOMA CITY SCHOOLS
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Registration will begin on April 4, 2022, for in-district enrolling students to attend kindergarten at Tullahoma City Schools for the upcoming school year. Registration will close on May 20, 2022, and reopen for a two week period prior to the start of school (July 18, 2022 – July 29, 2022).

**A child must be five (5) years of age on or before August 15 in order to enter kindergarten.**

*State law requires that “…no child shall be eligible to enter first grade without having attended an approved kindergarten program.”

Students living within Tullahoma City limits will be registered at the school in the zone in which they reside. (Please see individual school websites for information regarding registration.)

Documents for enrollment:

  1. Copy of birth certificate
  2. Certificate of Immunization. The state mandates that no pupil whether beginning school, transferring from another system outside the state, or non-public school be enrolled in school without providing to school officials a certificate of immunization on the official state form. This form can be obtained at the Health Department. It can be completed by the Health Department or taken to your doctor.
  3. Current medical examination (Board Policy 6.203). The physical examination must be within one calendar year of starting school in Tennessee.
  4. A social security number for children 5 years of age or older (preferred but not required)

Upcoming kindergarten students who live outside Tullahoma City limits  and did not attend Tullahoma City Schools during the previous school year will need the above documents and complete an Out-of-District Kindergarten Application for Enrollment found on the district website under the enrollment tab.  These students will be assigned to Bel-Aire Elementary, East Lincoln Elementary, Jack T. Farrar Elementary, or Robert E. Lee Elementary kindergartens depending upon their residence. They are subject to be transferred through August 2, 2022, based on the student enrollment numbers at these schools.

All out-of-district students/parents must also agree to meet the Tullahoma Out-of-District standards and tuition requirements (per Board Policy 6.204) before enrollment is granted.
