Current and Upcoming School Calendars
As Tullahoma City Schools creates and the school board approves calendars, the district wants to ensure that students, families, faculty, and staff understand how they are created. Additionally, TCS wants to ensure that families have these calendars in an ample amount of time for any and all planning needs.
TCS utilizes a process for calendar creation that engages many stakeholders. The focus of calendar creation is grounded in two principles: what is best for students and families, as well as what is best for teaching and learning.
When the district engages in creating new school-year calendars, the following steps are taken:
Each school has a building-level calendar committee comprised of teachers and support staff to serve as their representatives.
TCS has a district calendar committee that includes teachers, support staff, parents, administrators, and district team members.
Feedback is sought throughout the process, and revisions to draft iterations of possible calendars are completed.
After much input is received, ideas incorporated, and final versions created, recommendations are made to the school board.
The TCS school board votes on the recommended calendars. When a calendar is approved for a specific school year, it is placed on the TCS website for all stakeholders to view and download.
