Proper Care Instructions

Proper care of digital devices is important to ensure their longevity and optimal performance. Here are some general instructions for taking care of your digital devices:

Keep your devices clean: Regularly clean the screens, keyboards, and other surfaces of your devices using appropriate cleaning materials. Use a soft cloth or microfiber cloth to remove dust and smudges. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that can damage the surfaces.
Protect from physical damage: Avoid placing heavy objects on top of your devices, and be mindful of where you store them to prevent accidents. Also, position the device on a safe surface so it does not drop or fall.
Use surge protectors: Plug your devices into surge protectors to protect them from power surges and fluctuations. This is particularly important for desktop computers, laptops, and other electronics that are susceptible to damage caused by voltage irregularities.
Store in appropriate conditions: Avoid exposing your devices to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Store them in a cool, dry place when not in use. Also, avoid storing devices in places where they can be easily damaged or knocked over.
Handle cables and connectors carefully: When plugging or unplugging cables, hold them by the connectors rather than yanking on the wires. This helps prevent damage to the cables and the ports they connect to. Avoid bending or twisting cables excessively, as this can weaken them over time.
Save documents to Google Drive: Save all documents to Google Drive. In the event of a hardware or software failure, saving documents in the cloud ensures you can easily recover your important information.
Be cautious with liquids: Keep liquids, such as water, beverages, or cleaning solutions, away from your devices. Spills can cause serious damage to internal components and lead to irreversible malfunctions.
Damaged or malfunctioning device: Do not attempt to repair a damaged or malfunctioning device. Instead, immediately report any problems/issues to the Technology Department via the ticketing system.

Proper Security Instructions

It is essential to follow proper security protocols to protect sensitive information and maintain a secure working environment. Below are instructions to help you maintain security:

Physical Security:

Never leave your device unattended in the classroom, public areas, or vehicles.
Store your device securely when not in use, preferably in a locked drawer or cabinet.
Report any loss or theft of your device immediately to the appropriate security personnel.

Email and Messaging

Exercise caution when opening email attachments or clicking on links, especially from unknown or suspicious senders.
Be wary of phishing attempts and carefully examine email addresses, subject lines, and content for any signs of deception.
Use encrypted email or secure messaging platforms when communicating sensitive information.

Do no t use the device for personal purposes unless permitted by TCS.
